Worship

Worship is an important part of the spiritual life here at New River. We value worship and the ability that we have to worship our Lord and Savior and to connect with God in our worship experience. Our worship is wonderfully lead by Kris Fitchpatrick who has an incredible heart for God's Presence and outpouring of His Holy Spirit in worship.

Our worship team has been developing and we are praying that God would continue to send us the right musicians to add to our body and our team.

Let The Living Water Flow

Recently I have experienced how severely my head throbs due to my body being dehydrated. It was the result of a week's worth of choices I made to drink coffee, tea, or soda each time I felt thirsty. During the week I felt sluggish, lacking much energy and motivation. I didn't attribute these first symptoms as a result of being dehydrated, but once my head started throbbing I knew exactly the cause of my problem. I recognized the fact that my body needed water. I immediately went to the refrigerator for a large, cold glass of water and have chosen to continue to make this choice several times throughout each day. I do not want to experience that horrible headache again.

GOD said to me in my spirit..."You finally recognized that your body needed water, but do you recognize when your spirit needs more of the Living Water?" I thought about that question and then began to ask myself, "What are my "symptoms" when I haven't spent time alone with GOD in a few days?" For me, I begin to see the ugly traits of my flesh nature...harsh negative comments, judgmental and critical thoughts toward others, loud and opinionated viewpoints that are forcefully shared, just to name a few. When I choose to replace time with GOD in worship and in His Word with activities and music that doesn't cause me to think on Him, it is the same as choosing unhealthy drinks instead of water.

BUT GOD... This is the whole point; GOD is our spiritual refrigerator, our source of Living Water. His presence in the life of anyone who believes in His death on the cross for salvation brings relief from the throbbing pain of sin. His Life is poured into anyone who asks and believes, according to Revelation 22:1,17 and John 4:10-14. John 7:37-38 says, "...Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" Be encouraged to check your "spiritual hydration level" throughout each week. It is a necessity for our own spiritual health but, when we are full of the Living Water Jesus, then we are able to pour out blessings on the ones around us as well.
